Redirect Checker
Check URLs for redirects instantly in your browser. See status codes, follow chains, and detect 301, 302, and other redirect types.
Input URLs
Paste one URL per line. The tool will check each URL for redirect responses.
Results
Status codes, redirect chains, and final URLs for each input.
Redirect Checker
Paste a list of URLs and the checker reports the status code, every hop in the redirect chain and the final destination. Requests run through a server-side proxy, so results do not depend on the target site's CORS policy.
Step by step
- Paste one URL per line into the input box.
- Click Check Redirects. Each URL is requested and followed through its redirect chain.
- Read the colour-coded cards: status code, number of hops and the final URL for each entry.
- Click Copy Results to keep the plain-text summary for a report or spreadsheet.
Tips for better results
- Permanent 301 and 308 hops pass ranking signals; temporary 302 and 307 hops do not, so change accidental temporary redirects when a move is permanent.
- Chains of three or more hops slow the first byte and dilute signals — point every redirect straight at the final URL.
- Redirect a removed page to its closest replacement, not the homepage, to keep topical relevance.
Frequently asked questions
Can I check redirects for a whole site?
Use this checker for spot checks. For full-site crawls with thousands of URLs and a CSV of every chain, request a broken link and redirect report.
Why do I see a proxy error for some URLs?
The checker calls a remote proxy because browsers block cross-origin requests. If the proxy is unreachable or rate-limited you get an error card for that URL only — retry and it usually clears.
Do redirects hurt SEO?
One permanent redirect is normal and passes signals. The real problems are long chains, loops, and temporary redirects used for permanent moves.
