Bing Meta Scraper

Paste a page's HTML and the scraper lists the title plus every meta tag with its name, property or http-equiv value — handy for spot-checking descriptions, robots directives and Open Graph data.

Step by step

  1. Paste the page source, or enter a URL and click Fetch Source.
  2. Click Scrape Meta Tags.
  3. Review the tag list: title first, then each name and content pair.
  4. Copy the output into a spreadsheet or a ticket for whoever updates the page.

Tips for better results

  • Check that the description is unique and roughly 150-160 characters instead of a copy of the title.
  • Look for a viewport tag to confirm the page is mobile-ready, and a robots tag that is not accidentally set to noindex.
  • Open Graph and Twitter tags decide how your link looks when shared, so keep og:title and og:description in sync with the page.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between name and property meta tags?

name is used for standard metadata such as description, robots and viewport. property is used by Open Graph for social sharing. The scraper lists both so nothing is missed.

Why does a tag show an empty content value?

The attribute existed but was empty in the HTML. An empty description or empty og:image is worse than none for social sharing, so fix those first.

Can I scrape meta tags for many URLs at once?

Yes. The Meta Tag Scraper report processes a plain-text URL list offline and returns URL, title and description columns as CSV or XLSX.
